APPROACHING: BERMUDA POLICE REACHES 622 HITS (418 Latent FINGER Hits / 204 Latent PALM Hits) In early 2004 by the
following agencies began their relationship ALASKA STATE POLICE has contracted delivery of an Automated PALM Identification System and database creation with factory scanning of their entire palm cards database. The database will be preloaded on the APIS prior to delivery. This will provide interesting data as Alaska State and Anchorage PD have been collecting FULL hand prints. PrintQuest is capable of searching a full hand (Palm + Phalanx areas) in one shot. SPEX previously created a 10K database with full hand print and rolled fingerprint cards for Bermuda: This AFIS-APIS achieved 230 hits within 6 months, including 35% of palm hits and several phalanx hits. We look forward to similar success for the Alaska State Police APIS. PORT St LUCIE, FL has awarded SPEX a contract for delivery of an AFIS-APIS with 2 workstations and 2 Tenprint Live Scan Stations to create a database of 75,000 cards. SPEX was selected over other desktop AFIS companies thanks to its superior searching accuracy, in particular its ability to use the FULL skeleton information DURING searches. Skeleton parameters such as ridge count to neighbor points allow greater selectivity, which minimizes the AFIS user workload as one just needs to review a very short candidate list. UPDATE: Since Installation, already 70 Latent Identifications (138 Hits) in 4 months. With 2 workstations and 2 Livescans, the Database Plan is for 75,000 cards. SAUDI ARABIA MINISTRY OF INTERIOR has awarded SPEX and its AFIS-APIS Agent Bandariyah the contract for 5 Automated Palmprint Identification Systems with Palm Live Scanners. These systems will be delivered in Arabic software and will help MOI in its fights against crime and terrorism. The
HENRY LEE INSTITUTE in Connecticut has
purchased a PrintQuest AFIS-APIS workstation and will soon offer Automated
Fingerprint and Palmprint Identification System training in collaboration
with SPEX Forensics. This system has already been delivered. Click this link to
